I like to train in the morning. Normally it is my first activity of the day, since it helps me face the rest of the day with more energy, motivation and a good attitude. But in order to have a good workout and not leave me exhausted for the rest of the day, the previous diet is key, where what I seek is to have fast energy and as natural as possible.
I share my pre-workout routine:
- Eat between 60 to 90 minutes before training. Yeah! It often involves getting up earlier. (Be careful, it is not losing sleep, it is gaining a moment to think, reflect and organize my day)
- Prepare a natural pineapple juice: I mix about 4 tablespoons of pineapple with 300cc of water and into the juicer. Sometimes I sweeten the juice with honey.
Why pineapple? Because I love it and because it is also rich in Vitamin C, it has a high composition of water, it helps to avoid cramps, it helps to reduce the inflammation of the tissues that are generated in training and finally it is an absorption carbohydrate slow, so it is recommended to consume it before training, it is ideal to be consumed before physical activity. As it has a low glycemic index, it stimulates the progressive release of insulin, which helps us maintain our energy throughout the workout. Tip: Always keep cut up pineapple in the fridge.
- 2 Energy Balls: In order to have the necessary energy for training, for a long time I consumed energy cereal bars, but looking for natural alternatives without added sugar I came across the SmartSnack Energy Balls, which perfectly meet what I need, they are natural and based on dates, which is an ingredient that I have always looked for because of the speed of the energy it delivers. It gives me a good amount of carbohydrates, with a low amount of fat and protein.
Tip: Look for high protein foods for post-workout or when you need to replace a main meal.
